Are you ready for The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005?

The regulatory reform (fire safety) order 2005 became active and replaced the Fire Precaution (Workplace) act 1997 on 1 October 2006.
Fire Certificates are no longer in force and all premises that are covered in the act will require a Fire Risk Assessment. View Order Here

The general requirements of the act are:

Article 4 - General Fire Precautions

Reduce risk from fire (Fire Risk Assessment).
Means of escape. (Travel distance, exits & exits widths).
Securing the means of escape. (Fire doors, protected routes)
Fighting equipment. (Fire extinguishers, sprinklers, etc)
Detection and warning. (Smoke detectors and fire alarms).
Arrangements in the event of fire. (Staff fire training)
